Consider yourself a coffee fan(atic) and keen to learn what goes into making a cup of pure magic?
Starring one of the godfathers of coffee, David Burton (Burton Hollis Coffee, Columbus Coffee, and now Jacks Coffee as well as the current President of the NZ Speciality Coffee Association), this will be a day of education and hands-on coffee making where you will learn the art behind the cup. There will be trestle stations focusing on different parts of the process: grinders and machines, plus tamping and extracting coffee shots, milk steaming and pouring (Origin Earth), brew techniques and cupping profiles... even an espresso martini station! There will be an expert Hawthorne Barista manning each station and helping you refine your skills.
David will be talking all things coffee: bean sourcing, roasting and flavour compounds. One thing is for certain, he’s got plenty of knowledge from 40+ years in the industry so feel free to drill him with all your hard-hitting coffee questions.
A delicious lunch will be covered by the team at Arapata Homestead, topped off with mimosas made from Henry’s OJ and coffee on tap! Get comfy at the long table, relax on a lounger in the sun, or swing your legs over the edge of the pool while you drink and graze the afternoon away.
